Exhibition: “Beyond the PCB: Documentation and Identity of Design Tools”
From design data to visual artifacts: how tools tell the story of design
____________________________________________
Every project leaves traces: not only in the circuit, but in how it is documented, shared, and communicated.
In the electronics development process, a project does not end with the layout or the schematic. Within CAD and EDA environments, a structured ecosystem of documentation, standards, and outputs takes shape, making design readable, shareable, and verifiable.
This exhibition explores the role of design tools not only as operational platforms, but as generators of languages: technical drawings, reports, interfaces, and visual materials, extending to merchandising elements that contribute to building a recognizable identity.
Over time, the evolution of CAD/EDA tools has profoundly transformed these forms of representation: from early, purely technical outputs to today’s integrated environments, where documentation, visualization, and communication coexist within a unified design flow.
From production to communication, a continuous thread emerges, connecting data and representation and turning design into a form of visual technical culture, where every trace expresses not only function, but also method, precision, and a sense of belonging to a technological ecosystem.
