IPC Hand Soldering Competition 2026
The only Italian stop of the international soldering competition
We’re back again this year with the only Italian stop of the soldering competition organized by the Global Electronics Association!
What is the competition about?
Professionals will compete by assembling a complex circuit board, aiming to win the 2026 National Title.
Time limit: 60 minutes
Standard: IPC-A-610 Class 3
Judgement: conducted by IPC Master Instructors (MITs)
Judging criteria:
- Quality of the final result
- Quality of the assembly process
- Overall electrical functionality
- Speed of execution
Prizes
1st place – 300€
2nd place – 200€
3rd place – 100€
Qualification for the World Final
The winner will be invited to compete in the HSC World Final at the electronica trade fair in Munich (November 2026).
All the expenses will be covered by the Global Electronics Association.
Team Competition
Companies may also participate as a team (2-3 people) and compete for the “HSC Best Company Team Award”.

Cable & Wire Harness Competition
The competition dedicated to cabling – for the first time in Italy
The Cable & Wire Harness Competition (CWH), dedicated to wiring and assembly specialists, will make its debut at Focus on PCB.
What is the competition about?
Participants must produce a fully functional wire harness assembly in accordance with the provided drawings and IPC standards.
Time limit: 60 minutes
Tools and materials: provided and identical for all participants
Standard: IPC/WHMA-A-620
Judging criteria:
- Crimp accuracy
- Quality of terminations
- Correct routing, labeling and bundling
- Compliance with IPC standards
- Overall appearance and functionality
- Speed of execution
All tools and materials will be supplied.
Participants should wear antistatic clothing or their company uniform.
