FOCUS ON PCB 2025: THE EUROPEAN PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD TRADE FAIR RETURNS TO VICENZA

FOCUS ON PCB 2025, THE EUROPEAN TRADE FAIR DEDICATED TO PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS, WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 21–22 IN VICENZA, WITH 147 COMPANIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD. IN ADDITION TO CONFERENCES AND FORUMS, THE EVENT WILL HOST THE IPC HAND SOLDERING COMPETITION AND THE “TRACES THROUGH TIME” EXHIBITION, WHICH EXPLORES THE EVOLUTION OF PCB DESIGN.

MAY 14, 2025 – One week from now, Focus on PCB 2025 – From Design to Assembly will open its doors, the only European trade fair entirely dedicated to the printed circuit board industry. Now in its fourth edition, the event will be held on May 21–22 in Hall 7 of the IEG exhibition centre in Vicenza.

147 companies from 19 countries around the world have registered, highlighting Focus on PCB’s increasingly international calling.

“The aim of this initiative has always been to promote the Italian and European PCB supply chain, and given the large number of European companies participating, we can confidently say we’ve achieved this goal,” emphasizes Stefania Calcaterra, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Italia, the trade fair organizer. “For two days, Vicenza will gather the world’s leading experts in PCB design, assembly, and commercialization, positioning Italy at the heart of a network of strategic relationships and innovations for the printed circuit board and electronic board industries.”

HIGH-VALUE CONFERENCES AND FORUMS
The conference program for Focus on PCB 2025 is packed with high-level events.
It kicks off on May 21 at 9:30 AM with a prestigious keynote by Alun Morgan, President of EIPC – The European Institute for the PCB Community, who will present “Electronics Business Outlook: European Market Dynamics.” Morgan will explore the global macroeconomic landscape, identify key risk factors, and focus on market dynamics and major technological innovations in the European PCB sector.
Over the two days, 14 conferences will inspire on the main stage, offering valuable insights and analytical tools to understand the present and future of the electronics industry. Key topics will include the future of electronics in Europe, enhancing Made in Italy, new frontiers in PCB quality and reliability, and solutions for EMS and testing. The program ends on May 22 at 2:30 PM with a session by Diana Radovan – IPC Director of Sustainability Policy, on “The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and Digital Product Passports – Impact on Electronics.”

Running alongside the conferences, 24 technical sessions will be hosted on the Exhibitor Forum stage, with workshops by exhibiting companies exploring the technological aspects of PCB design and assembly.

SEARCHING FOR ITALY’S 2025 SOLDERING CHAMPION
The only Italian leg of the IPC Hand Soldering Competition is back, organized by IPC to identify top soldering talent and celebrate skills in the field. Last year, 32 participants tackled a high-level challenge, with only 5 managing to complete the task.
The winner will receive a certificate, a cash prize offered by IPC and sponsors, and a ticket to the world final held in Munich during Productronica 2025.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT THE FAIR
The Focus on Career initiative also returns for Focus on PCB 2025, designed to connect companies with new talent in the PCB industry. Exhibiting companies can promote job openings both during the event and through its digital platforms, while visitors will find a dedicated area to browse job listings and connect with recruiters.
This space aims to reduce the gap between market demand and available skills, encouraging direct dialogue between companies and professionals. Recruiting activities will continue after the event, with job ads remaining online on the Focus on PCB website and LinkedIn page, keeping the talent pipeline open all year long.

AN EXHIBITION TRACING THE HISTORY OF PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS
Debuting at Focus on PCB is the exhibition “Traces through time: the evolution of PCB Design,” a first-of-its-kind event in Italy. This visual, chronological exhibit explores over a century of PCB design history.
Curated by Gianluca Lualdi and Simone Tameni, the exhibition illustrates the industry’s journey from hand-wiring wooden frames to today’s AI-assisted design technologies. Visitors will find a unique selection of historic PCBs, original blueprints, 1990s software, and vintage tools from corporate archives and private collections.
Traces through time” is not just for industry professionals—it’s a captivating journey into technology, design, and industrial culture, offering a comprehensive look at how PCBs have shaped our everyday lives.
