THE VICENZA PRINTED CIRCUIT EXHIBITION SCORES BIG: +15% MORE VISITORS FOR FOCUS ON PCB
FOCUS ON PCB IS GENERATING A BUZZ AMONG VISITORS AND COMPANIES ALIKE, WITH THE EVENT PROVIDING A SIGNIFICANT BOOST TO THE ‘MADE IN EUROPE’ ELECTRONICS SECTOR AND OFFERING GENUINE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. THE EVENT IS CONSOLIDATING ITS POSITION AS A STRATEGIC PLATFORM FOR ELECTRONICS IN EUROPE, WITH 147 EXHIBITORS FROM 19 COUNTRIES AND HIGH-PROFILE TECHNICAL CONTENT.
MAY 26, 2025 – The 2025 edition of “Focus on PCB – From design to assembly”, the European trade show dedicated to the world of printed circuit boards, has come to a successful conclusion. This confirms its status as an international reference point for electronics industry operators, technicians, and decision-makers.
The event recorded a 15% increase in visitor numbers compared to 2024, with significant growth in international attendance: 10% of visitors came from abroad, representing 35 countries, which is a 40% increase in diversity of origin, demonstrating growing interest in the event beyond Italy’s borders.
The exhibition area also expanded significantly, with 147 exhibitors from 19 countries (+24% compared to last year), showcasing solutions, technologies and innovations from around the globe. This substantial growth is a testament to the strength and recognition of the ‘Focus on PCB’ brand, as evidenced by the relocation of the exhibition from Hall 1 to Hall 7 of the IEG exhibition centre in Vicenza.
Focus on PCB is increasingly becoming a hub for quality business. Visitors are highly qualified and motivated, and you can come into direct contact with decision-makers, designers and manufacturers. This is what makes the fair unique and strategic for the sector at a European level,” said Stefania Calcaterra, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Italia, the event’s organiser.
A RICH AND WELL-ATTENDED TECHNICAL PROGRAMME
The exhibition experience was further enriched by a high-level side programme featuring 14 conferences and 24 technical workshops.
These included a standout presentation by Alun Morgan, President of the European Institute for the PCB Community (EIPC). Morgan provided an in-depth analysis of the European PCB market, identifying concrete growth opportunities for European electronics in innovation, sustainability, and production relocation.
SPECIAL EVENTS BETWEEN TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AND INDUSTRIAL CULTURE
There was also significant participation in the IPC Hand Soldering Competition, the international hand soldering contest organised by IPC and held at Focus on PCB as the only Italian leg of the competition. For the third consecutive time, Alessandro Manicone of Elettronica GF won the Italian Championship title and will represent Italy at the world finals in Munich in November. Fabio Dotti of Gefran scored the second place, and Marina Bouvet of Thales Etrelles France won third place. Thales Etrelles France also won the Best Team award, scoring the highest points in the team section.
This year’s competition, organised by IPC, was attended by 31 hand soldering professionals, including 10 women, representing 18 companies. Only five participants managed to complete the task of producing a working PCB within the time limit, demonstrating the difficulty of the challenge.
The exhibition ‘Traces in Time: The Evolution of PCB Design’, curated by Gianluca Lualdi and Simone Tameni, was also very well received. It offered visitors a unique perspective on the evolution of PCBs by taking them on a journey through the history of electronic design via historical prototypes and iconic pieces.
